Baptism

Baptism

Baptism is the sacrament that welcomes individuals into the Catholic-Christian community.

Baptism is generally celebrated within one year of a child’s birth. In recognition of the family’s central role in conveying faith, baptism rites at Corpus Christi are conducted with individual families, not large groups.

Parent formation for infant baptism includes a private formation session. Parents will be given the necessary paperwork required by the Parish Office, and once the paperwork is completed and submitted, parents may calendar their child’s baptism.

Baptism for individuals of other ages:
  • Baptism for children over the age of 7 in elementary school is referred to as RCIA adapted for Children, and will be completed through FISH.

  • Baptism for youth in middle school or high school is referred to as RCIA adapted for Youth, and will be completed through Ichthys (middle school) or Life Teen (high school).

  • RCIA children and youth then receive all Sacraments of Initiation (baptism, 1st Eucharist, & Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil Mass.

  • Adults wishing to be baptized into the Catholic faith, please visit our OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) page.
