Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (Becoming Catholic)

Faith Formation begins — yet never ends. When we are infants and toddlers, it is our parents’ responsibility to begin the process of forming our faith. Many of us, while still in diapers, are baptized into the Catholic Church. And with continued help from our parents and our school / church teachers, we develop initial roots in our faith.

We enter grade school where we begin to understand Jesus, what it means to love, to help, and to share. In middle school and high school we develop strong relationships with peers and teachers who work with us to grow our faith still deeper, as we learn to love unconditionally and share our faith with others.

As adults, we are given the glorious opportunity to teach our own children, and to study with other men and women. We can never learn too much about our faith. We can never get too close to Jesus Christ. We can never help our “neighbors in need” enough. We can never work too hard to bring others to the love of God.

Some of us are drawn to the Catholic Faith for the very first time… as adults. This is such a beautiful gift from God! For it is never too late to be a part of our community — a part of our family of faith.

We can never stop forming our faith, and it is never too late to begin. Simply step onto the path…
