Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick & Homebound

Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick & Homebound

A spiritual and sacramental lifeline...

This ministry provides a spiritual and sacramental lifeline to community members who cannot attend Mass because of hospitalization, serious illness, pregnancy, injury or similar circumstance.

In keeping with the Gospel of Matthew’s admonition to care for those who are sick or imprisoned, Corpus Christi’s Eucharistic ministers to the homebound deliver communion and fellowship to parishioners at their homes, hospitals and nursing homes.

Ministers

After an initial training session, new Eucharistic Ministers to the sick and homebound will accompany an experienced member on a home visit.

When comfortable with the process, new team members will receive assignments to deliver communion after being blessed and sent forth at the end of Mass.

If you would like to join this ministry, please complete the Ministry Interest Form.

Eucharist Recipients

Are you, or someone you know, unable to attend Mass to receive the Eucharist each week? Maybe a loved one, friend, neighbor, or co-worker has suddenly been hospitalized or bedridden. Whether an individual is temporarily or permanently homebound, our ministers will work with you or an appropriate caretaker to make sure you get Communion each week.

Eucharistic Ministers visit recipients must be Catholic and have received their First Communion.

To request a home visit from a Eucharistic Minister, please contact the Parish Office at 949.389.9008.

*Eucharistic Ministers cannot perform Anointing of the Sick (also known as Last Rites). Please inform the Parish Office if a homebound individual requires Anointing of the Sick. If an individual's passing appears to be imminent, please also call the Emergency line at 949.339.9504.
