Infant Baptism: Baptism is the sacrament that welcomes individuals into the Catholic-Christian community. For infants, baptism is generally celebrated within one year of a child’s birth. In recognition of the family’s central role in conveying faith, Fr. Tim conducts baptism rites with individual families, not large groups. (For information on adult baptism and church initiation, please click here). Parents need to meet briefly with a member of Corpus Christi’s baptismal ministry team to receive an information packet and paperwork for the sacrament. Please note that Godparents must be practicing Roman Catholics.

To Join the Ministry Team: The Baptism Ministry’s mission is one of welcome: we meet the families of the children to be baptized on a rotating basis (about once every 7 weeks) to welcome them into our community as well as go over what is entailed in the sacrament of baptism on the actual day and further along in the life of the child. We discuss the responsibilities of bringing a child to the church for baptism and how our community welcomes new members.
