Our Vision, Mission, and Strategy

The following are the homily notes from my “State of The Parish” Homily given on the weekend of October 6/7 which outline my vision, mission and strategy for 2019.  To watch the  homily, please click here: State of the Parish Homily 2018

Purpose Driven Discipleship Process

God’s vision and purposes (5) for his church is The Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

The Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…and mind (worship). This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself (connect, serve). The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments” (Mt 22:37-40).

The Great Commission: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations (proclaim), baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (connect), teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (grow) (Mt 28:19-20).

Mission is what we do—Our Purpose. Our Mission: Love God (Worship). Love Others (Connect). Grow. Serve. Proclaim.

Vision: Why are we here—Our Dream.   Our dream is to bring people to Jesus and to his Church, and for all members of Christ’s Church to commit to their growth in being a true disciple of Jesus by living the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

Our Motto: A great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great Church.

How (Strategy)? It all starts with the weekend experience (Worship).

Our weekend experience focuses on four primary objectives:

  • A friendly, welcoming and inviting environment
  • A solid single and beyond message (homily)
  • A worship experience that allows people to enjoy the presence of God.
  • A quality children’s ministry

Small Groups: The small group is the place where one meets with other Catholics for fellowship, spiritual growth, encouragement and support in one’s Christian walk.

Through this process: Worship, Connect, Grow, Serve and Proclaim, we begin to see the world like Jesus, think like Jesus, love like Jesus, and do the things that Jesus did while he was with us on the earth. Through this process we are slowly transformed day by day and step by step into the image of Christ.
