On Saturday, July 9, Corpus Christi hosted an evening of thanksgiving for our volunteers who passionately give of their time and talent for our parish family.
Just as the Eucharist is the cornerstone and heart of our Catholic faith and of our week, so too, our volunteers are the cornerstone and heart of the parish. The parish is what it is today because of our wonderful volunteers. It was once said, “I can no answer make, but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks.”
Special thanks to the following groups who made the evening possible, Pastoral Council, First Saturday Men’s Fellowship, and L.I.F.T. (Ladies and Faith Together). The Pastoral Council under the leadership of it’s chair, Carina Chavez, organized the event. The First Saturday Men’s Fellowship did the barbeque and L.I.F.T. handled the delicious salads.
A good time was experienced by all. The evening consisted of grace, barbeque burgers and dogs, various salads, wonderful conversation, a DJ and dancing.
To all our volunteers who for whatever the reason were not present for the evening, please know that I and your Corpus Christi family are grateful for all that you do, that you were missed, and please plan on joining us next year when we gather again to celebrate who we are, Corpus Christi!
It is my blessing to be your pastor.
