Our Annual School Supply Drive – A HUGE SUCCESS!

Dear People of God,

On the weekend of July 16th and 17th we conducted our Parish wide School Supply Drive for the clients of South County Outreach and their families. Your response was extraordinary!

A total 108 Backpacks were donated.School Supply Drive 2016

We were able to completely fill 58 of the backpacks with all the items that South County Outreach asked for. Each full backpack was filled with: pencils, pencil pouch, colored pencils, crayons, markers, watercolor paint, pencil sharpener, pens (red, blue and black), highlighters, a 12 inch ruler, blunt scissors, a pocket folder, spiral notebooks, sticky notes, looseleaf paper, glue, a book cover, a composition book, three ring binder, a USB flash drive, plus various other items depending on the grade level of the student.

We were able to partially fill 50 backpacks with most of the items listed above.

We also donated BAGS & BAGS & BAGS of pens, pencils, looseleaf paper, spiral notebooks, crayons, markers, highlighters, composition books, 3 ring binders, etc. that will be used to fill other donated backpacks.

In addition we also received numerous cash donations.  This will enable South County Outreach to buy the school supplies they are still in need of.

Thank you to the amazing number of volunteers who came after the Noon Mass, on the 17th,  to help fill the backpacks.

I also want to acknowledge Alyssa Eugenio (our parish receptionist) and Maria Inciong (our Children’s Faith Formation Coordinator) for helping out all weekend long and making sure the drive went smoothly. Well done!

Lastly, I thank all of you for your exceptional generosity and your willingness to volunteer that which is most precious – your time. Truly you are supporting and furthering our Parish Covenant Commitment of “SERVICE” and fulfilling our Parish Mission Statement of “making a difference in our families, church, and world”.

My blessing is to be your Pastor now and for all that is to come.
