One of Corpus Christi’s original ministry programs, MOPS is the parish branch of an international organization designed to help mothers of young children (newborn through kindergarten) build friendships, share parenting strategies, and deepen their faith.
Each fall and spring, Corpus Christi MOPS hosts a program of 7 to 9 evening gatherings that feature food, crafts, inspirational speakers, and small-group discussions. (Note: Childcare is not provided.) Past speakers have covered such topics as personal safety, child discipline, healthy eating, spirituality, and decorating. Other MOPS activities include summer Bible studies, philanthropy projects (such as donating baby items to Teen MOPS or a shelter for battered women), and small-group outings to movies, parks, dinners, etc.
A registration fee of $80 each fall and spring covers crafts, guest speakers, hospitality, and MOPS International costs. Once or twice per season, each member will be asked to bring dinner items to share, and to assist with setup and cleanup.
