Baptism is the sacrament that welcomes individuals into the Catholic-Christian community. For infants, baptism is generally celebrated within one year of a child’s birth. In recognition of the family’s central role in conveying faith, Fr. Fred conducts baptism rites with individual families, not large groups. (For information on adult baptism and church initiation, see the Adult Faith Formation Ministry).
Before scheduling an infant baptism, parents must have been registered at the parish for at least 3 months. They must also meet briefly with a member of Corpus Christi’s baptismal ministry team to receive an information packet and paperwork for the sacrament. Please note that godparents must be practicing Roman Catholics.

To Join the Ministry Team: This group requires a relatively small time commitment. To learn the ropes, team members attend a short training session and observe a ministry leader meeting with parents. From there, team members meet with parents on a rotating basis after Mass (about once every 7 weeks) to answer questions and provide the literature and paperwork required for the sacrament. The meetings are informal and usually last about 15 minutes.
