HAVEN is a two-pronged program: a dynamic environment for high school students who want to deepen their relationships with God and each other – and the path to confirm readiness for the sacrament of confirmation.
HAVEN meets the second Saturday of the month, starting at the 5 p.m. Mass and then adjourning to a lively mix of dinner, mingling, music, prayer, community building, and discussions about topics relevant to teen life. The sessions are interactive and teen-centered. At the heart of the meetings is HAVEN’s team of adult mentors – exemplary parishioners who relate well to teens. Each adult works with a group of about 10 students during the year, guiding their small group discussions and serving as a caring role model of Catholic-Christian faith. Youth leaders also assist with HAVEN activities – joining group discussions, and acting as peer mentors.
Twice a year, HAVEN sponsors weekend retreats that focus on relevant faith topics and provide opportunities for introspection, prayer, and relationship-building.
HAVEN also schedules various social events (such as movie and arcade nights) and community service projects.
Teens seeking the sacrament of confirmation are expected to attend 18 HAVEN meetings and two offsite retreats, plus complete 20 hours of Corpus Christi service.

Youth Leadership:
Corpus Christi's Youth Leadership Ministry program is a springboard for talented and motivated teens to become leaders at church, school, and beyond.
Working as peer leaders and mentors in Corpus Christi's JAMS and HAVEN ministries, members of the youth leadership team learn the communication, negotiation, and planning skills needed to effectiely lead and motivate others. They also gain tools to develop self-confidence and grow into strong witnesses for the Catholic faith.
High School students are admitted to the program based on written applications and personal interviews. Only a limited number of slots are available each year. Students who are selected attend a 3-night Youth Leadership Summit at the Pali Mountain Retreat Center in Running Springs, where they prepare for leadership and mentor roles in JAMS and/or HAVEN. AFter that, they meet once every two months to sharpen their leadership skills and socialize with fellow team members.
